Meet The Management Team

In the early 1980s, Ryan moved to Nanaimo to work and train as a carpentry apprentice. After a decade of experience, he founded Fisk Construction as an owner-operated company building homes and residential renovations. Five years later, Fisk Construction incorporated and shifted focus to fixed-fee contracts and project management in commercial and industrial construction while still maintaining relationships with residential customers.

In 2014, Ryan’s son, Eric, joined the team as a general labourer. Through diligent, hard work, he has become Ryan’s right-hand as a Site Supervisor.

Fisk Construction Inc. is committed to providing the highest quality workmanship for clients through professionalism, high regard for safety, and commitment to staying on budget and on time.

We are committed to keeping up to date with advancements in building practices through education and investing in BC's skilled labour force by training apprentices through ITA as a registered employer.

Ryan Fisk

President

Ryan started working with his father in construction in 1979 and has never looked back. He has worked in all aspects of construction, from residential new builds to industrial restorations to commercial relocations, which has given him priceless experience that carries to each new project.

Through the years, Ryan has specialized in Commercial and Industrial projects, specifically new builds, renovations, and alterations. But it’s his passion to create that drives every project to success. When asked what he enjoys most about his work, Ryan says that construction is more like art to him. It’s the creative process from start to finish that drives his passion for what he does every day.

The next set of challenges Ryan would like to dive into? Tilt-up concrete buildings, restaurant and care home projects.

Eric Fisk, Superintendent at Fisk Construction Inc.

Eric Fisk

Site Superintendent

Like father, like son. Eric has followed in Ryan’s footsteps in the construction industry. He started with Fisk Construction Inc. in 2014–though he has been working in trades for 11 years working as a tile setter and heavy-duty service.

When Eric was younger, he would spend a lot of time building boxes and rails for skateboarding or jumps for mountain biking, and he learnt how to do this from his father. Eric admired his resourcefulness and his ability to come up with creative designs and execute the build. After years of soaking up Ryan’s teachings and working odd labour jobs for him, the excitement of building new things and coming up with solutions for what people need is what stuck with him.

Problem-solving is what keeps Eric loving this job. Project planning and management for construction is a job that has new challenges and opportunities coming up every day. It is never stale or stagnant. What he really enjoys is being faced with a problem and doing his best to come up with an efficient and effective solution.

The next set of challenges Eric would like to take on? Building relocation.
